ANHS Participates in the 33rd Milo Marathon


The 33rd Nationwide Milo Marathon in Butuan City happened on July 13, 2009. The venue was in the road near the Cathedral Church and the Butuan City Rizal Park. The occasion started at 6 in the morning and ended at almost 12 in the afternoon.

There were many participants from all over Butuan City, from little ones to adults that may be estimated to be more than three-hundred people all in all. Students from Agusan National High School, again, never failed to be one of the active participants of this activity, but also students and pupils from Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT), Butuan City Elementary School (BCES), Rainbow of Angels Learning Center, Inc. (ROALCI) and Enfant Cheri Study Centre, Inc. (ECSCI) were spotted. The first part of the race was the 3K run or also called as the Kiddies run which is preferred to be for children in the age of seven to twelve. Next was the 5K run also called as Fun Run which is preferred for teens with ages thirteen to sixteen, and last was the 25K run or the Champion’s run which is preferred for adults with ages ranging from twenty-five to thirty-five. All of the starting point of the race was near the Cathedral but they had different stops to turn into. The 3K run just ended near Inland Resort, the 5K run near the City Hardware and the Champion’s run at Bancasi. The Milo Staff also provided the participants with water in every stop for them to replenish their quench for thirst.

After finishing the run, the participants were given certificates of accomplishment with their according time and they were given some cold nice taste of Milo drink. The awarding happened at almost nine in the morning. The Libertad National High School Dance Troupe bagged the 1st place for the best cheer dance in the event, who was instructed by a former Agusan National High School graduate, from the Butuan City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT).
